DUNGEON MASTER'S ACADEMY

DragonVerse Dungeon Master's Academy

Never been a Dungeon Master? Your adventure starts here.

Every story needs a narrator. The Academy is DragonVerse’s step-by-step training program that teaches a new Dungeon Master to prepare for and lead the introductory adventure—even if they’ve never sat at a game table.

Who it's for

Bookstore staff, volunteers, and local storytellers—complete beginners welcome. Experienced players will find a clear guide to running DragonVerse the way it was designed.

What you'll learn

The role of the Dungeon Master: narrating, guiding, and keeping the table welcoming.
The essential fifth-edition rules the adventure uses—nothing more than you need.
How to prepare the adventure, scene by scene.
Running Level Zero and handing out character sheets.
Pacing a 90–120 minute session, handling combat, puzzles, and player choices.
Event-day checklists so the evening runs smoothly.

How it's structured

Orientation — what DragonVerse is and how an event flows.
Learn the essentials — guided lessons and reference materials.
Prepare your adventure — walk through the story and characters.
Lead the table — run your first session with references at hand.

Learning to lead takes some preparation—the Academy breaks it into clear steps so you’re ready when the players arrive.
